The week ends with the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, which is the most popular motorcycle rally in the United States. Between the years of 1942 and 1947 the race took time off because of World War II but resumed again in late 1947.

The amount of attendees to the Daytona Bike Week grew over the years because of the promotion of William France Sr., the co founder of NASCAR. Even if someone doesn’t own a motorcycle they tend to attend Daytona Bike Week for the parties and because it is one major show.

Motorcycle helmets are worn by the majority of the bikers if they feel like doing so.

The other events hosted for motorcycle enthusiasts across the country aren’t attended by as many people as Daytona Bike Week. Almost all of the other motorcycle events across the country draw anywhere from 250,000 to 300,000 people, which is much less than Daytona Bike Week.
