Testing Your Car Battery

Cars are more complex today because of all of the advances that have occurred in the last 20-30 years. A lot of accessories and extra features most of which operate on electricity, are also included in that. Add some awesome auto accesories like a bigger stereo and you’ll need heavy duty car batteries. All batteries will need to be changed at one time or another, but there are things you can do to make it last longer.

Naturally good maintenance practices will keep you from having to buy a new battery more than needed. As it interferes with electrical current, you must clean battery posts quite often in order to protect it from corrosion and gunk. A water hose which is pressurized along with a wire brush will accomplish the job best. Another option is to purchase an aerosol can of foam battery cleaner to loosen any dirt.

If you are having trouble starting your car, the battery may be loose, locate the bracket or clamp holding it in place, and tighten the screws. The life of your car battery can be shortened by vibration, which causes the cells to break down. If the battery cables seem loose after checking, tighten them as necessary. If you aren’t confident doing this on your own, you should go to a store where they repair automobiles, and have them to it for you. In Southern California, AAMCO is decent for battery inspection, a no charge engine scan plus Orange County auto service or La Habra check engine light.

If the battery can’t be charged it will need to be replaced. Go to the auto parts store where you shop for your vehicles and begin searching for a new battery. If you don’t think you can do the job on your own then take advantage of a store’s, often times free, offer to install the battery for you.

If you’re not certain regarding the kind of battery that is required, here are some ways to assist you: Visit your local vehicle parts store and figure out the year and model of your car in a guide containing information regarding car batteries; next, as you go down the list, choose the right one for your vehicle. A store employee can help when asked if you can’t find the right information or what it is that you are looking for. You will find the people who work in shops like this are all very friendly and knowledgeable about the subject of car repair, as well.

New In-Car Technology

People love gadgets that they can use in their everyday lives, none more so than those gadgets found in cars or that can be used in cars. Lets take a little peak at 3 gadgets that have either only just been launched or are set to go mainstream pretty soon.

Electronic Cigarette. With all the new smoking bans being but in place in public locations, the car is on of the last bastions for smokers. That said, nobody want to have their car stinking of cigarette smoke, especially when you have to give people a lift. Not to mention the mess that the ash from the cigarettes makes. The electronic cigarette wont burn your upholstery, won’t stink out the car and isn’t even bad for you. The best bit is you can recharge these gadgets using the cigarette lighter port, so it’ll save you a fortune.

Sound Interruption Head Rest
. This is one of these gifts for men, when they are trying to concentrate on the task at hand. A small devise that fits into the headrest of a car, emits quiet, low frequency sound waves that form an invisible barrier around the driver’s head, meaning all unwanted noise is kept out. I think you’ll agree that this gadget is a must for anyone who gets constant nattering in their ear or from the back of the car, when all they are trying to do is get from A to B.

Auto-Adjusting Car Seats
. Not only does this technology help drivers be more comfortable, but also reduces their chances of being injured in a crash. Expected to be released by Ford in 2012, these new seats adjust automatically to your body shape and weight, giving you the best ergonomically friendly driving position. You can even program the seat to move to different positions depending on what style of driving you want to do. The best bit is that if you are involved in collision, the seat will move into the safest position possible in a fraction of a second.  If there is no one in the seat behind, the driver’s seat and passenger seat move backwards and downwards, moving the person as far away from the impact zone as possible.

The Best High Performance Tires For Your Car For All Seasons

When you are speeding your life away, four things greatly impact your safety, your tires. And, unless you are lucky enough to live in the tropics, it’s pretty likely that the seasons change where you’re driving, bringing with them a shift in driving conditions. By purchasing a good set of all season tires you can avoid accidents and even save your own life! Good all season tires kept in good repair will keep your car hugging those curves and stopping on a dime, so you must do what you can to maintain them properly.

To maintain your tires properly, you need to do more than simply replace them as their treads begin to wear down. Tire maintenance requires more than this of you, but nothing that is too strenuous once you understand what needs to be done. You need to rotate them often, this helps to prevent wear unevenly and maintain enough traction to ensure a sage ride. You should also drive such that there are minimal damage to your tires. That means, don’t drive too quickly on dirt or gravel roads, try not to run into curbs and sidewalks, and not taking turns too quickly. Skidding to a stop suddenly and turning too quickly is not too good for your tire.

It is also necessary that you take your car into the shop for tire related maintenance. I can commiserate with care enthusiasts who would love to do everything themselves, including changing the tire themselves. I never went to a garage before getting started as a mechanic,.

You should not attempt the installation yourself. It takes an expert to properly change tires. This is because of the precision adjustments that are involved. The tires must be installed securely. This imply that they are well balanced, and you can only do this with proper equipment.

Also, your tires will wear unevenly and have a much shorter lifespan, this is because wear are concentrated on less area. You will spend more money in the end as compared to getting the professional. More about this at Truck Tires

Customized, Luxurious and Limited Edition Cars

Everyone wants to own a perfect car, the type that turn all heads, but these cars are quite expensive. Don’t think only of new line cars that are a true work of art as they come. The cars I’m talking about are those personalized cars that are unrecognizable after the makeover. The discussion is about cars that can be watched on TV, driven by an eccentric celebrity, cars that remind with nothing of the original model they come from. This type of cars is often sold in car auctions. Because these cars are works of art, the ones made by famous designers will cost a lot more. The good news if that in these auction you can also find less famous producers. There are plenty other car workshops that produce excellent customizing around the world. Car that get personalized by small workshops and are not made for a specific purpose or customer will also be sold in car auctions.

Luxurious car auctions are usually held for the purpose of attracting rich customers who won’t be watching a car’s real value, but it’s performance and looks. And since the internet the a true world wonder, it will be the preferred location if you want to search for such an auction. It’s a whole new world revealed when you enter such a car auction, so if you can, go, even if you are sure you can’t afford anything. It’s a high change the event will also attract small workshops that will sell their equally flawless cars at very low prices compared to famous producers. These cars will not be bided on by rich buyers, because they only want to see and buy famous workshop productions, regardless of the price. You can also orientate towards luxurious cars sold by individuals, like used imperial Chrysler and this cars will also don’t offer much concurrency, so there’s a good chance of getting a good price.

It’s worth the chance to place a bid on a superb car, you might be even buying it for the price of a second hand one. You might even end up going home with a car fit for a rock star, just because you decided to spend $1000 in a car auction.

Women Are Solid Automotive Buyers

Women don’t enjoy walking around big parking lots, surrounded by sellers that regard them with superiority or don’t bother answering their questions. People do still disrespect women that trying to mingle with “manly affairs” like buying a car at an auction they think is. Women who still buy from car auctions escape all these nasty looks by bringing a male acquaintance along and asking him to place bids for them, on cars they want to buy.

If a woman want to avoid the uncomfortable situation of being addressed by a salesman that thinks he is Dan Juan, they either leave home or don’t come at all and try the online auctions. In online auctions, it makes no difference if you are a man, a woman or a very intelligent any thing else. Since no one can see you, there’s no reason to feel uncomfortable and you can freely bid or not bid, evaluate and decide, without being distracted by others.

Women are much more accurate buyers than men, and they know before starting exactly what they want. If they are interested in used crossfires, then they will not be moved by other great deals. Maybe this is one of the reasons they are regarded as naïve in live car auctions, because they will only be bidding on one car, the one they had in mind from the beginning, and maybe sometimes even overpay for it. They know if they are overbidding or not, and even if they do, they simply want that car. Some medieval sales men forget that women have enough money and don’t give them much attention. Other men that are bidders get annoyed when they are bidding against a woman. This is why, for women, online auctions are the real deal. If a man sees a good deal, he will get it even if he came for something else, but a woman won’t care because she knows she wants something else. Women want quality and they won’t give up the search until they find something they find fit. If you want a search done properly, ask a woman. Most women successfully make a car purchase in online auctions, even getting good prices for certain cars. If, by change, women are car auction sellers, then they are actually advantaged because other sellers will want nothing to do with them, witch is good, and buyer will often ask for car details, witch is also good.
